 Question & Answer:

Q: Why should I use SecureSaveDVD?

SecureSaveDVD provides a simple means to save your personal, confidential data on DVD. Nearly everybody has such data on his or her computer hard disk, such as financial or tax data, confidential correspondence, contacts etc. In saving them on a SecureSaveDVD, the files are encrypted using AES256 so that if the DVD is lost or stolen, nobody can access the data saved on the DVD.

Typical applications do not only include the storage of confidential data. Another important usage is in sending any confidential information by mail – the files can be saved on the DVD, posted to the recipient and the password can be emailed to them separately.

Q: Is SecureSaveDVD intended for a certain customer group only?

No, it can be used both in private or business.

Q: Does SecureSaveDVD support MacintoshOS by Apple?

No, the software used in SecureSaveDVD is only compatible to Windows XP / Vista / 2000.

Q: Does SecureSaveDVD support Windows ME and 98?

No, the software used in SecureSaveDVD is only compatible to Windows XP / Vista / 2000.

Q: Does it need to have DVD burning software?

No, the necessary software is already included within the product.

Q: Can we use SecureSaveDVD with DVD+R burner?

SecureSaveDVD requires a burner that is compatible to DVD-R. However, most of today's burners support both DVD+R and DVD-R.

Q: How many files can SecureSaveDVD burn the disc?

SecureSaveDVD offers approx. 4.5GB of available space to store your files.

Q: How does SecureSaveDVD store the backup data on the disc?

SecureSaveDVD stores all files in the same directory structure as on your original. However, all data is encrypted using AES256 encryption method which has proven to be one of the safest encryption methods available. You are asked to key in your personal password after having started the software.

Q: What is the meaning of "Close disc after recording for archiving / viewing"?

"Closing a disc" or "Finalisation" is a means to tell the read-out device (e.g. DVD-ROM drive) that this disc is full and nothing can be added anymore. After "finalisation" the disc looks like a DVD-ROM disc. The contents can then be viewed by a pure reading device. Note that "finalisation" is required by read-only drives. Note that a DVD burner allows viewing the contents without finalisation. Also more contents can be added when the disc is not closed / finalised.

Q: How do I select the folders to make a backup ?

A simple explorer is provided to select folders and files.

Q: How can I see backup files on the disc ?

After re-insertion of the SecureSaveDVD into a drive you are asked for the password. When the correct password has been provided, you can view all folders and files in a simple explorer. You can then select the files for viewing.
