Verbatim Ultrium cartridges can store up to 400GB of data (assumes 2:1 compression ratio). Robust tape leader pin technology ensures positive tape loading for thousands of load / unload cycles and greatly reduces the potential for broken leaders.

Verbatim LTO Ultrium cartridges are ruggedized for the most intensive automation environments. Each cartridge features a Cartridge Memory (CM) Chip. LTO-CM is an intelligent memory electronics and interfere module embedded in the cartridge. It uses a radio frequency interface eliminates the need for a physical power of signal connection between cartridge and drive, greatly improving the performance and reliability of the system. Information normally stored in the header at the beginning of the tape is held in the LTO-CM.
