HD DVD-R DL 1x

With the growing popularity of high definition televisions (HDTV's) and high definition programming, the demand now exists for high capacity storage discs. These discs are capable of holding the high capacity files associated with high definition.

HD DVD stands for 'High-Density Digital Versatile Disc'. HD DVD uses the same blue laser technology as Blu-ray discs. The blue laser has a wavelength of 405nm compared with the wavelength of of 650nm for DVD which uses red laser technology. The shorter wavelenth means it is possible to write smaller data pits and therefore vastly increases the amount of data on the disc.
