Eschborn, July 2007 – At IFA, Verbatim is unveiling a raft of new products in the fields of Optical Media, USB Storage Media & Memory Cards. In addition, a highlight will be the worldwide market launch of Verbatim’s external hard drives in the 2.5” and 3.5” format. With these and other products from the Memory Card and USB key sector, Verbatim is expanding its strategic position as the leading provider of high-quality Digital Storage Media. The Verbatim stand can be found at Hall 15.1 My Media, at stand 131 during the IFA trade show on the trade fair grounds in Berlin between 31st August and 5th September.

At IFA, the world’s largest consumer Electronic trade show in Berlin, Verbatim will be unveiling its new external HD drives. Other innovations include the first generation of the HD-DVD DL Dual Layer with 30 GB of storage, the SDHC and CompactFlash Flash Memory cards with 4 GB and 8 GB of memory, plus  the USB 2.0 Store 'n' Go with a massive 16 GB of storage space.
There’s also a lot going on in the Accessories product sector: Verbatim will be presenting a range of new computer mice that can work optically, wirelessly or with lasers. The new products will be on show at Stand 131, Verbatim’s twin-storey stand covering some 150 square metres, in Hall 15.1.

HD-DVD Dual Layer with up to 30 GB

For fans of high-resolution films, HDTV and equivalent HD recorders, Verbatim now offers for the first time an HD-DVD in Dual Layer format. The new HD-DVD DL boasts over 30 GB of storage capacity and a write speed of 4.5 MB/s. The HD-DVD DL 30 GB is compatible with version 2.1 of the HD DVD standard and is available from outlets in Europe from September 2007 onwards.

2.5” hard drives up to 250 GB and 3.5” hard drives up to 750 GB

Verbatim’s product highlight for 2007 are the high-quality external hard drives offering up to 750 GB of storage capacity. From September, Verbatim will offer three models in the 2.5” format, providing 120 GB, 160 GB and 250 GB of storage space respectively. The 2.5” hard drives are each available with USB 2.0 or Firewire connection.
 Also in September, the 3.5” HD drives with storage capacities of 500 GB and 750 GB will be available with USB 2.0 and combined USB 2.0 / Firewire connection. Moreover, the 3.5” hard drives are also optionally available with Ethernet connections as NAS (Network Attached Storage), thereby facilitating an ideal connection to local networks.

New USB Key 2.0 Store 'n’ Go with 16 GB and new mice

In the USB keys sector too, Verbatim is raising its aim and to coincide perfectly with the IFA is unveiling its new Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Drive Store ‘n’ Go with 16 GB of storage capacity. In terms of product accessories, Verbatim is also presenting a new range of optical, wireless and laser computer mice in a stylish design.

Flash memory cards: microSD, CompactFlash and SDHC up to 8 GB

At the IFA, Verbatim will be showcasing its entire range of Flash Memory  cards, including the latest models: microSD with 2 GB, SDHC with up to 8 GB and CompactFlash with from 2 GB to 8 GB of storage space. The microSD 2 GB has a read and write speed of 2 and 4 MB/s. The SDHC cards with 4 and 8 GB belong to the fastest speed class 6 and thus guarantee a minimum write speed of 6 MB/s. The Verbatim Hi-Speed CompactFlash cards are available with 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB of storage capacity and offer maximum reliability with a write speed of up to 4 MB/s.
