SOHO NAS: How does it all work?

SOHO NAS has an embedded Linux operating system. This custom OS handles the ins and outs of making connections, file transfers, users, groups, disk management, and all network protocols and services. This can be updated through firmware to fix bugs, add features and improve performance.
