1) Is there need to pay higher attention to security of memory media?

Today people very often have to carry sensitive data with themselves. There have been many embarrassing instances over recent years of people mislaying USB drives or other storage products with confidential data on it. It is important to have portable storage media which provides security standards for corporate and governments markets, eliminating the risk of data being lost or stolen, which may be disastrous for companies, its employes and its customers.

2) How can the security of memory media be technically ensured?

3) Where is the weakest place in the area of memory media? What we should focus on?

One weakness is user’s wrong handling of the media, it is important to use the storage products with care. HDDs are not shock-resistent, DVDs are not scratch resistant, there are some rules to be respected.

Besided correct handeling it is important to have storage products with provides security features.

4) How can we integrate the issue of memory media security into security policy?

Best is to make data back up on a regular basis on a Harddisc.
