Verbatim turbocharges GT Portable Hard Drive with USB 3.0 and 1TB capacity

Available in blue or red, the sleek hard drive features the famous white racing stripes that have adorned the livery of legendary racecars at circuits across the world and offers computer users a distinctive data storage companion. The rear of the hard drive also features a pair of red status indication lights resembling brake lights on a sports car.

Back of hard driveAnother supercharge is provided by the inclusion of a unique write protection switch to prevent accidental deletion of data which operates in a similar way to the write protection switch found on an SD memory card.

The FAT-32 pre-formatted drive is immediately ready to be used on both PC and Mac. It is preloaded with Nero BackItUp Essentials software that allows PC users full system backup and restore functions, the ability to schedule automatic backup by date/time and an encrypted backup option with password control.
 
New GT Hard DrivesVerbatim's Green Button energy-saving software reduces energy consumption and extends the drive’s life expectancy by automatically placing the drive into sleep mode whenever the user decides. There are 3 'Sleep Setting' options. Set the suspend mode to activate after 10 minutes of use, or by increments of 10 minutes up to 120 minutes. Set the drive to suspend immediately by double clicking the Green Button icon on the desktop or alternatively set the drive to 'Never suspend the disk'.
 
The drive, which measures 195mm x 121mm x 33mm (L x W x H), can also be used for USB Recording which enables users to record programmes to an external storage device directly connected to a TV via USB and pause live TV. With USB Recording, an external USB hard drive becomes the replacement of a HDD/DVD recorder or even a VHS video recorder.
Many TVs nowadays are equipped with one or more USB port(s). We have already grown accustomed to playing back photos and movies from a USB hard drive or a USB stick on the TV. Now an additional USB feature has been added to TV sets – USB Recording. If you have recently bought a new TV there is good chance that it will support USB Recording, in particular when you have bought a mid range or high end TV. USB Recording enables you to record programmes to an external storage device directly connected to your TV via USB. Your external HDD basically acts as a video recorder. You can also use it to pause live TV. With USB Recording, your external USB hard drive becomes the replacement of your HDD/DVD recorder or even your VHS video recorders. USB Rec/Play
